Our Mission
Sunrise Alarm Guide exists because we were tired of finding sunrise alarm "reviews" that were clearly written by people who'd never used the products, sourced from manufacturer spec sheets, and structured to maximize affiliate commissions rather than help readers make good decisions.
We built a different model: aggregate real user data first, research the science second, then write recommendations that reflect both. Every ranking on this site starts with review aggregation — we pull hundreds of thousands of verified purchase reviews, filter for reliability signals, and look for patterns. Only then do we write a recommendation.
Our Methodology
Every product roundup on this site follows the same four-step process:
- Data collection: We aggregate verified purchase reviews from major retail platforms. Unverified reviews and reviews under 15 words are excluded.
- Sentiment analysis: Complaints and praise are categorized into functional buckets: light quality, alarm reliability, build quality, ease of use, long-term performance, value.
- Weighting: Alarm reliability failures are weighted 3× other complaints. A sunrise alarm clock that doesn't reliably wake you is a failed product regardless of other features.
- Threshold: Products need a 4.0+ sustained average and 2,500+ reviews to qualify for a top-7 list. We don't feature products with thin review bases.
Our Informational Standards
Our comparison and guide articles cite peer-reviewed research wherever possible. We link to primary sources and identify where the evidence is strong vs. preliminary. We explicitly flag where our recommendations go beyond what the research directly supports.
We are not medical professionals. Nothing on this site constitutes medical advice. Our SAD lamp recommendations in particular come with repeated reminders to consult a healthcare provider for diagnosis and treatment planning.
